Description

In this unit, learners will discuss the artworks of Irving, Kidd, Dupre, and Allston from the CMA, as they portray depictions in society and everyday life. The artists Brueghal the elder, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, and Grant Wood will also be studied in conjunction with the art of genre painting. This will be an art history unit with dramatic tableaux exercises. The learner will then create his/her own genre art collage depicting a personal “Day in the Life” scene.
